Lemon & Clay Gardens started with a small backyard orchard in Concord — a home and a garden that changed how our family lived, and planted the seed for what a well-designed garden could become. We design outdoor spaces for families in Contra Costa County who want that same thing: gardens that thrive in this soil, built for our real, messy, beautiful lives, and designed to grow with the people you love. Garden Consult / Coaching
60 minutes per session. We walk your space, assess your soil, light, and irrigation, and tell you what we'd do in your soil. We can stay with you as your garden grows – adjust, troubleshooting, and answering questions in real time.

From our family to yours
We started with a small backyard orchard in Concord. One garden changed how our family lived and the rest followed.
Lemon and Clay has a double meaning: it represents the citrus trees that are so common to this area (we have a meyer lemon in our backyard!) and the clay soil that's common here, too (it took us a while figuring out how to successfully work with it when we moved here). But it's also a nod to our children, who inspire us to create beautiful outdoor spaces every day and leave the world better than we found it.

We teach – we don't just execute. We built the coaching package, the planting calendars, and the ongoing consultation option so families understand their garden and can help it succeed, long after you've met with us.
